Passenger-oriented rescheduling of trains and rolling stock for handling large passenger demand: linearized models with train capacity constraint

چکیده

This paper focuses on adjusting the offline-planned schedules for urban rail networks in case of large passenger demand. We simultaneously reschedule train services, adjust rolling stock plans, and find best route passengers updated schedule. The goal is to improve transport performance balance it with operating cost, while respecting operational constraints. A mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) model first proposed. Approximate exact methods are further introduced reformulate term MINLP model, resulting linear (MILP) models. In models, emergency services can be added if necessary. Short-turning stop-pattern adaptation speed up circulation (i.e. metro vehicles). Passengers same characteristics gathered into a group, group may follow different routes, depending resource availability. Experimental results small-scale study demonstrate better three reformulation methods, i.e. they feasible solution much faster (within 180 s) obtain solutions higher quality within certain computation time, comparison other proposed approximate methods. Moreover, identify improved operation passengers, 13% improvement when properly shortening headway time 69% trains.

Rescheduling in passenger railways: the rolling stock rebalancing problem

This paper addresses the Rolling Stock Rebalancing Problem (RSRP) which arises within a passenger railway operator when the rolling stock has to be rescheduled due to changing circumstances. RSRP is relevant both in the short-term planning stage and in the real-time operations. RSRP has as input a timetable and a rolling stock circulation where the allocation of the rolling stock among the stat...

A rolling stock circulation model for combining and splitting of passenger trains

This paper addresses the railway rolling stock circulation problem. Given the departure and arrival times as well as the expected numbers of passengers, we have to assign the rolling stock to the timetable services. We consider several objective criteria that are related to operational costs, service quality and reliability of the railway system. Our model is an extension of an existing rolling...

Modeling and Analysis of Handling-Stability of Passenger Cars

A nonlinear model consisting “yaw, roll, longitudinal, lateral and pitch” has been developed in which, tire and suspension characteristics have been considered. Tire model is based on the elliptic concept and tire Calspan data. According to this tire model, cornering force and aligning moment are computed as a function of slip and camber (inclination) angles, normal load, tire adhesion characte...

Flight Rescheduling Decisions for Robust Passenger Itineraries

It has been the practice of the majority of airlines to reschedule passengers and flights so as to minimize flight delay. Some airlines are now starting to look at the problem of rescheduling from the perspective of the passenger and are trying to minimize the impact of missed and cancelled connecting flights on the consumer. In this paper we propose the algorithm Schedule Minimization foR Gene...
